In Bilbao Apr13-17... Beautiful city, in a strange urban/rundown sort of way - old town, then industrialisation, then mass production, &c... Everything sort of tacked on to each other (buildings/infrastructure), and so many different environments in a really small space (filmmaker's heaven!)
Spain on Approach
well this is here cos I got it, but you can't actually make out a great deal - the northern spanish/basque coastline runs thru the middle; Bilbao is off to one side, but I forget which...

walked along the river towards the Guggenheim... they've recently tried to do the town up to attract some tourists, I spose this is the inevitable result (altho it's probly more popular when it's warm!)

as part of their urban renewal projects, Bilbao has a whole lot of strange architectural things; suspended from this bridge there's a little bit of road and some seating space to ferry ppl back and forth... I think you can also get a lift to the top and walk across, but you'd have to be crazy to try

the approach to a little chapel built on an off-shore mountain thing (not sure if it qualifies as an island) -- very daunting though
