Pamplona (y San Sebastian)
Was in Pamplona Apr17-21, with a day in San Sebastian the 19th.
San Sebastian
view of Sta Clara (I think), an island in the bay at San Sebastian; I love how the waves have flattened the front edge of it
San Sebastian
a castle-y thing built of one side of the San Sebastian bay; fake but looks cool
San Sebastian
on one side of the bay is this huge peak, you can take a cable-car thing up there; once you get there u need to be entertained so: Casa del Terror... and more...
San Sebastian
view from out the cable-car thing, looking down into San Sebastian's bay
A Soldier... with a Gun
the bus on the way back from San Sebastian got stopped for a (random?) search... The Spanish home guard equivalent got on and asked a few randoms for ID (lucky me didn't speak Spanish, didn't have my passport... then the dude ran off with my student card). As they were leaving I realised I wanted a photo - this one guy had a Big Gun
Pamplona Walls
taken from a lookout in Pamplona; massive great wall that goes down one side, and leaves bits lying around elsewhere in town
Pamplona Walls
massive great walls, bits of which are around town, but from here still whole and actually holding things up
Pamplona Cathedral
the Cathedral, as seen from behind
Pamplona... A Church
don't even know what this is (aside from being a church... of which there are a great many!) but the modern/Gothic look was amazing (especially being surrounded by your average city highrise buildings)
Pamplona Cathedral
inside the Cathedral... seems to have been largely remodelled recent-ish, though there are layers of ruins that go back to Pagan/Pre-Roman temples...
