Your fetish with the Semantic Web is just an excuse not to organise your thoughts hierarchicly, as God intended

I’ve linked to FTrain.com before. Now here’s an interview with Paul Ford, the owner. The quote above’s from the comments - where Paul invited people to “let loose hell’s fury” upon him. If you’ve got the time, dig around Ftrain.com, and for more of the ‘Semantic Web’, check harpers.org which Paul built.
'the desire to be a patriot and to change things'

Another blog entry here. FTrain.com is marvellously postmodern - in it’s design and scripting and in the writing. A fascinating look at one end of a phone conversation: “she keeps looking for a way for things to be all right”… It really struck me, even though I’m not entirely sure why just yet…
I want to be a Free Spirit

Everyday Matters has some amazing artwork, and some really profound moments in the entries. This little entry‘s on when we take artwork too far - trying to fix up the work, rather than knowing when to stop. It really struck me though as that was often my problem with art in high school… I’d get finished too early in the term and have to keep working - but everything goes downhill once that happens.
Interesting too, cos I see the same problem in all sorts of things - film, advertising, novels… In many of those cases, the editor should have been able to tell the creator to stop. I think that’s the real job of any editor.
Broken Hearts

A nice one for Valentine’s Day. The Morning News published this photo series with people telling stories of how their hearts were broken. There’s some beautiful tales in there.
